The Chosen
Champions rise where kings have failed.
When the Bone King’s rebirth cracked Tistrofel open, the kings chose champions in their place. Five stepped forward from war, faith, shadow, steel, and fire—not to rule from thrones, but to stand where the land itself is bleeding.
Their kings fight for crowns. They fight for the torn land itself.

Where kings send champions, The Chosen walk willingly. The torn land of Tistrofel is waiting.
The moment Bonduc Hartwynn—the Bone King—rose into unlife, Tistrofel changed forever. The land split open, and a hidden world just beneath the surface of the lonely continent was suddenly exposed. Creatures never seen before climbed from the depths and challenged the short peace that the Battle Kings Tournament had brokered. The tournament had allowed the residents of Tistrofel to become docile, and they were unprepared for the assault. Territories were decimated as the monsters carved their deadly path. Several unique individuals stepped up to face the new way of life. Adventurers formed small groups and fought against the rising tides of darkness. One band in particular grew to fame as they brought low several of the largest beasts. They were known as The Chosen.
The Kings Hartwynn, Guthwith, Opismire, and Goerwhy met in Kao’s tower to find a way to beat back the invasion. Instead, they descended once more into pettiness and squabbled over what was left of their kingdoms. The rise of the Bone King had split Kao’s magical staff and introduced a chaotic new element that the kings were uncomfortable with. All four of them agreed to end the tournament and resume the old ways—nearly coming to blows right there in the tower. Once again, Kao intervened and forced their hands. If they would not compete, they would assign an heir or champion to fight in their place. The kings grudgingly agreed. Each king selected their champion, but no one expected the wildcard who selected herself: a paladin seeking to redeem the fabled Bonduc Hartwynn joined the fray in honor of the insane Bone King. During his life, Bonduc had been a fair and just king, and she believed in his redemption, so she stood for him in the tournament. The kings’ new champions stepped forward—each one already forged in the same fires that had tempered the adventurers.
