Before Andor Opismire, Tistrofel had but three kings. A dashingly handsome man with golden hair and a silver tongue, Andor was believed to be descended from old money and trained by martial masters from all the kingdoms. Known for his charm and sharp wit, even in the heat of battle, his true origins tell a far darker tale. Andor was born in the Under Legion, where his only teacher was fear. For centuries, the Rocky Shores of southern Tistrofel were home only to wild waves, vagabonds, and outcasts. As a boy, Andor found himself trapped in the treacherous caverns that connected the Rocky Shores to a maze of tunnels beneath the Under Legion’s southern edge. Deep within those dark passages, he discovered things that changed him forever—but most notably, he found gold and diamonds. Alone and tireless, he harvested his fortune, hiding it carefully while secretly hiring laborers to build a manor, then a keep, and finally, a castle. To protect his growing empire, Andor hired a militia and used his connections in the Under Legion to maintain secrecy, guarding the true riches of the Rocky Shores. Andor’s wealth and charisma made him a celebrated host, known for extravagant galas where he lavished his guests with gifts. His celebrity earned him the trust of his neighbors, and his fortune raised a thriving city in what was once a rural wasteland. Rumors of his opulence drew people from across the land, and before the other kings realized it, Andor was crowned the 'King of Diamonds.'
Andor is 5'10" tall and weighs 165 lbs. His twin scimitars Eclipse (silver) and Apex (gold) can be locked together to form the massive halberd Paragon. Andor is a weapon master the likes of which have not been seen in Tistrofel. He wears light leather armor adorned in his house sigil, the diamond, and extravagant gold and silver scrollwork.

Strategies to Consider

The King of Diamonds is pure offensive power; a glass cannon with unparalleled burst damage. You hit harder than any other king. Other kings must kill you quickly, for they won’t get many chances. Your game is all about momentum. Gather your resources, strike when the moment is right, and snowball into an unstoppable force. You’re the most likely to earn Power Crystals quickly, so use your Power Tokens wisely and always have a plan (or three). The best Diamonds players are critical thinkers, able to adapt on the fly and capitalize on shifting opportunities. If you play your cards right (literally), the game will be over as quickly as it began.
The Diplomat
Make friends. Laugh at their bad jokes. Rub elbows like you’re besties. Follow through on some promises—eviscerate their enemies and prove your loyalty… for now. If you play this right, you might earn a block from the King of Clubs or a heal from the King of Hearts, all while racking up Power Crystals and thinning the competition. But let’s be real--eventually, someone is going to stab you in the back. That’s why it’s smart to save some Power Tokens for L-2: Parry & Riposte, your insurance policy against betrayal. Just be careful not to trigger Power Overload unless… well… that’s part of your plan.
The Calculated Killer
Patience is key. The L-1: Preparation ability gives you an insane level of control of your game. Hold back on big attacks early and focus on building your hand. Use the deck aggressively. Keep an eye out for the Equalizer as it can ruin a well laid plan. When the moment is right, toss a Critical Strike at someone for a quick Power Crystal while setting up your big play. Then, when a target is vulnerable, drop the hammer with a massive attack. Use L-1: Diamond Edges to ensure Overkill if you must—that extra Power Crystal could be the start of an unstoppable power cycle. Since you can only use one ability per turn, wait for the +FX stage of your next turn to pop L-1: Preparation, refilling your hand, snatching a quick heal, and setting yourself up to nuke someone again. If you can chain Overkill and Critical Strikes, you’ll become an unstoppable force. Be warned, the Equalizer and the 1/1: Brittle Blades spell can thwart you.
The Opportunist
Stay under the radar. Pick your attack cards carefully—deal small, low-impact damage attacks while quietly building your hand for heavy hits. Don’t skip an easy kill though, it’ll draw suspicion, and you need to try and keep two Power Crystals at the ready to easily replace your used Power Tokens.
Your ideal draws:
Final Thoughts
The King of Diamodns is lethal, unpredictable, and momentum-driven. You may start the game as a fragile glass cannon, but with the right timing, and a little luck with card draws, you'll become a whirlwind of destruction. The key is to manage your resources, know when to strike, and never let up once you start rolling.
