Bargiss Vandelin
Origins
Bargiss Vandelin is the youngest son of Bahlistel and Orielle Vandelin. His mother, Orielle, was a devoted follower of the goddess D’Aryasia and a loving, nurturing presence in his life. In contrast, his father, Bahlistel, was an ambitious and single-minded man obsessed with mastering the Rainbow Braid in all its vibrant glory. Unknown to most, Bahlistel secretly worshiped the god Kargonis—a devotion that would foreshadow the family’s dark journey.
The First Forest
The Vandelins were nomadic wanderers who traveled far and wide across the continent of Dyrfoll. Despite their outwardly good intentions, their lives were shadowed by secrets, and they inevitably made enemies along the way. Eventually, they sought refuge in the First Forest, where Bargiss was born. Darkness rose again through Bahlistel’s forbidden faith, but this time a deeper evil had already taken root. The family found themselves trapped amid the brutal war between the Wood Elves and the Fialt, and befriended a human militia disavowed by the Ivory Empire. They endured the terror that later became known as the Rise of Ravinoros.
The Temple of Sorcery
Despite years of hardship, Bargiss grew into a skilled spellweaver, inheriting his mother’s devotion to D’Aryasia. In southern Talonus, he settled among friends and established the hamlet of Orielle, named in honor of his late mother. There he founded the Temple of Sorcery, teaching the art of Spellweaving and inspiring faith in D’Aryasia. Bargiss strives to build a sanctuary of magic and hope in a turbulent world, praying that the sins of his father—and the darkness that followed him—are gone forever.
